2023 CFA Institute Africa Investment Conference

On 29 & 30 November, we hosted the maiden CFA Institute Africa Investment Conference, at the Eko Convention Center, Lagos, Nigeria. The conference, attended by the President and CEO of CFA Institute, Marg Franklin, CFA, brought together policymakers, thought leaders, investors, and industry experts to explore the immense potential of Africa as a desirable investment destination.

Under the theme “The Emergence of Africa: A Rethink or a Re-Strategizing?”, the Conference hosted in partnership with CFA Societies East Africa, Ghana, South Africa, and Mauritius served as a powerful platform for fostering collaboration, igniting new ideas, and reaffirming Africa’s position as a compelling investment destination. By bringing together diverse stakeholders and facilitating insightful discussions, the conference contributed significantly to shaping a brighter future for African finance and highlighting investment opportunities that will drive sustainable and inclusive economic growth across the continent.

The conference concluded with a Career Fair and Student Conference, providing valuable opportunities for young professionals to connect with industry leaders and explore career paths in finance and investment professions.

Regulators and Stakeholders Engagements during Marg Franklin’s First Visit to Africa

During Marg Franklin’s visit, she signed Memoranda Of Understanding with the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC Nigeria), and Zenith Bank Plc. The MOUs highlight a commitment to enhancing the ongoing collaborations with the organisations to develop Nigeria’s financial sector.
