Advocacy Committee

The Advocacy Committee coordinates and promotes CFA Institute’s advocacy initiatives through the local society to advance and promote policies that serve investor protection over commercial interests; improve market structure, transparency, and fairness.

They engage with regulators and market participants to promote the adoption of the Global Investment Performance Standards (GIPS®), the Asset Manager Code (AMC), and the CFA Institute Code of Ethics and Standards of Professional Conduct. They also drive the Ethics Train-the-Trainer initiative and Financial Literacy Outreaches in Nigeria.

The Employer Relations Committee actively identifies job and career development opportunities to support members’ career progression and professional development. They host an annual career fair in partnership with employers in the local market for the benefit of members and candidates. Gender Diversity Committee

 

The Gender Diversity Committee promotes the society’s Women in Investment Management (WIM) Initiatives. The committee organizes events that promote the participation of women in the investment industry and manages the annual Gender Diversity Scholarships Award Program funded by CFA Society Nigeria for the CFA Program exams.

Membership Committee

 

The Membership Committee works to increase the value members receive from their membership with CFA Society Nigeria by hosting and allocating credits for professional learning events (webinars and in-person), hosting annual CFA Charter Award ceremonies and annual Volunteer Recognition events.

They actively support registered and potential candidates in Nigeria through the quarterly CFA Revision Bootcamp and the management of the yearly Access Scholarship award in Nigeria.

The Programming Committee plans and organizes all educational events and programs on topical issues of interest to CFA Society Nigeria. These events include the bi-annual Nigeria Investment Conference, member and candidate networking events, quarterly breakfast knowledge-sharing sessions, quarterly leadership series, dinners, the annual e-walk challenge, charter recognition events, etc.

The University Relations Committee promotes the awareness of the CFA® Program and CFA designation among university students through the institutionalization of Investment Clubs in schools around the country. The committee also coordinates the society’s university outreach efforts via the annual CFA Institute Research Challenge® and the CFA Society Nigeria Ethics Challenge.
