CFA Society Nigeria launches the “Women in Investment Management Initiative” and the 2017 Charter Award Ceremony. The dinner is expected to bring together about 500 investment professionals, senior executives, regulators, government officials, university students and professors.

At our annual Charter Award Ceremonies, we recognise and celebrate a very important milestone in the career and professional development of our new charterholders who have recently earned the right to use the prestigious CFA designation. Our 2017 Charter Award Ceremony is planned to be a landmark event in the history of our Society. It is our intention to use the event to draw the attention of the investment industry to the current gender imbalance in our industry, and the need to promote gender diversity. As a leading voice for advocacy in the investment industry, CFA Society Nigeria will like to be a champion for the promotion of gender diversity in the investment management profession. The CFA Institute “Women in Investment Management Initiative” is focused on improving investor outcomes by encouraging diversity in the investment profession. Sound investing mandates diversification, yet it is remarkably absent from team construction across all spectrums of the profession. As the largest global association of investment professionals, CFA Institute and member societies such as CFA Society Nigeria, are in a unique position to raise awareness and drive change.
