WIM Mentoring Program

As a leading advocate for gender diversity in the investment industry, CFA Society Nigeria is committed to fostering inclusivity and empowering women in investment management. Aligned with the CFA Institute’s Women in Investment Management Initiative, our goal is to enhance investor outcomes by promoting diversity within the profession.

CFA Society Nigeria officially launched the Women in Investment Management Initiative at its 2017 Charter Award Ceremony, making five key commitments to support and advance women in the industry:

  • Conduct a comprehensive benchmarking study to assess Nigerian investment firms against global best practices for supporting women’s career growth.
  • Recognize and award three firms that excel in gender diversity at the 2018 Charter Award Ceremony.
  • Establish a mentoring program to connect women in investment management with experienced mentors for career guidance.
  • Host at least three gender diversity events annually—two for women in the industry and academia and one for female university students pursuing finance-related studies.
  • Launch a ₦50 million Endowment Fund to provide scholarships for young women studying finance in Nigerian universities and for those pursuing CFA®, CIPM®, and Investment Foundations® credentials.

Our Women in Investment Management Initiative is spearheaded by the Gender Diversity Committee, driving impactful programs to ensure a more inclusive investment landscape in Nigeria.
