CFA Society Nigeria operates through various committees, each dedicated to advancing the Society’s mission and strategic objectives. In line with our Volunteer Policy, members are encouraged to volunteer their expertise, develop leadership skills, and expand their professional network:
Advocacy Committee
The Advocacy Committee champions initiatives that prioritise investor protection over commercial interests while enhancing market structure, transparency, and fairness. They collaborate with regulators and industry stakeholders to drive the adoption of the Global Investment Performance Standards (GIPS®), the Asset Manager Code (AMC), and the CFA Institute Code of Ethics and Standards of Professional Conduct.
Employer Relations Committee
The Employer Relations Committee actively identifies job and career development opportunities to support members’ career progression and professional development. They host career fairs and other events in partnership with employers in the local market for the benefit of members and candidates. The committee is also responsible for promoting the value of the CFA designation to employers in Nigeria.
Diversity Equity & Inclusion Committee (DEI)
The DEI Committee champions the society’s Women in Investment Management (WIM) initiatives, fostering greater inclusion and representation of women in the investment industry. The committee organizes events designed to encourage women’s participation in the field and oversees the annual Gender Diversity Scholarship Program, funded by CFA Society Nigeria, to support women pursuing the CFA Program exams.
Membership Committee
The Membership Committee enhances the value of CFA Society Nigeria membership by curating professional learning opportunities, including webinars and in-person sessions, while fostering member engagement through flagship events like the annual CFA Charter Award Ceremonies. Additionally, the committee supports both registered and aspiring CFA candidates in Nigeria through initiatives such as the quarterly CFA Revision Bootcamp and the administration of the annual Access Scholarship awards.
Programming Committee
The Programming Committee designs and executes educational events and programs that address topical issues relevant to CFA Society Nigeria. These initiatives include the Investment Conference, member and candidate networking events, quarterly breakfast knowledge-sharing sessions, leadership series, dinners, the annual e-walk challenge, and charter recognition ceremonies, among others.
University Relations Committee
The University Relations Committee fosters awareness of the CFA® Program and CFA designation among university students by establishing Investment Clubs in institutions nationwide. The committee also leads the society’s university outreach initiatives, including the annual CFA Institute Research Challenge® and the CFA Society Nigeria Ethics Challenge.
