Industry Practitioners' Ethics Challenge

Elevating Ethical Standards in Nigeria's Financial Industry

The Industry Practitioners' Ethics Challenge (IPEC) is a rigorous competition designed to reinforce the importance of ethical conduct among finance professionals. Participants engage in a comprehensive process, from pre-screening to final presentations, focusing on the practical application of the CFA Institute Code of Ethics and Standards of Professional Conduct.

Competition Structure:

Pre-Screening & Ethics Workshop:

Participants undergo a pre-screening test followed by a mandatory Ethics Workshop, ensuring a strong foundation in ethical principles.

Team Collaboration:

Teams are formed randomly, collaborating virtually to analyze complex case studies. A signed confidentiality agreement ensures the integrity of the competition.

Case Studies & Presentations:

Teams analyze two case studies, preparing presentations for both semi-final and final rounds. Semi-final & final presentations allow team members time to share their findings followed by a Q&A session.

Case studies in the IPEC challenge require teams to analyze real-world ethical dilemmas faced in the financial industry. Each team works collaboratively to identify ethical violations, assess their implications, and propose practical solutions aligned with the CFA Institute Code of Ethics and Standards of Professional Conduct. The analysis culminates in structured presentations, where teams defend their recommendations before a panel of industry experts. The top three teams receive prizes and plaques, while all finalists are awarded letters of attestation for their participation as well as prizes and plaques.
